Nyirenda back home from India in sound health

Uhuru torch hero Brig. Gen. Alexander Nyirenda (71) who hoisted the Uhuru torch on Mt Kilimanjaro in 1961 and who has been undergoing treatment in India for over two months is back home in sound health, it has been learnt.
Nyirenda who jetted back in on Monday was undergoing treatment of throat complications in India.
According to his daughter, Tima, who accompanied him, Nyirenda would return to India in a month’s time for follow-up attention.
She explained that her father was discharged on speficic condition that he return to the hospital for further check-up
