The Swedish envoy to Tanzania, Ambassador Staffan Herrstrom has said the right to education is not only about enrollment rates, but also about quality.

Ambassador Herrstrom made the remark in a recent statement he availed to the media on Education in Zanzibar.

He issued the statement after visiting Pemba and Unguja this month on a follow-up trip on a building project in one of the 721 schools supported by Sweden.

The envoy said Sweden would continue to work with the government of Zanzibar focusing on gender equality and achieving the right to education for the persons with disabilities.

``We have noted with satisfaction that the number of children going to school has increased and is approaching the set goals to reach education for all,`` said Herrstrom.

The envoy said education, particularly on girls was the best possible investment a country could make for its development.
