Kikwete tough on ministers

President Kikwete has directed the newly appointed ministers to start working immediately rather than waste time for merriment and congratulating each other.

Speaking at the famous White House in Dodoma where CCM members of the National Executive Committee gathered for a briefing from the party national chairman, the President said:

``I am expecting that you all get down to business. Celebrations ended today at Chamwino State House. Each one of you is expected to deliver.``

He said he would not hesitate to make another reshuffle once he discovered that some of his ministers were underperforming.
“Make sure that you work hard to meet people’s expectations. I will have no other time to give you guidance because the exercise ended in Ngurdoto, Arusha. There is no time to go back to what has transpired recently,” he said.
The President also told the Prime Minister that no one in the cabinet was above him, adding, “Anyone who does not obey you (PM) let me know immediately and I will act immediately without hesitation.”
