Banks in the country have been asked to assist women entrepreneurs manage funds to enable them establish successful businesses.

The Chief Executive Officer of Relim Entertainment, Emelda Mwamanga, made the call yesterday during a one-day workshop which had the theme, `Dare to Dream.`

Mwamanga said the seminar is aimed at helping women with business dreams to translate them into realities.

``There are women who have better dreams to change the world but lack the courage to translate them into realities.

Lack of capital and skills to write business proposals and plans are major hindrances facing female entrepreneurs to live their dreams,`` she said.

She asked banks to help women understand how to prepare comprehensive business plans which will attract loans from banks.

``Empowering a woman amounts to empowering the nation. `Dare to dream` seeks to give women tools and resources to start up and sustain businesses,`` said Mwamanga.

She said that the `Dare to Dream` event will be done annually and that every year successful women would receive a Tanzanian Women of Distinction Award.

The `Dare to Dream` will be an annual event committed to empowerment of Tanzanian women aspiring to become successful entrepreneurs.

``It will also encourage women to dream big and to inspire each other,`` she said.

The workshop was facilitated by expert consultants and included a practical step by step course on ways to start business from scratch.

About 200 women from all over the country took part in the workshop organized by Relim Entertainment Company in collaboration with the Bank of Africa and Unilever.
