Tanzania Horticultural Association (TAHA) has awarded The Guardian`s Arusha bureau chief, Adam Ihucha, a certificate of recognition for a series of his articles focusing on the horticulture industry in 2007.

The award, which also included a token of cash was made on Thursday during the official launching of the association`s membership drive and projects coordinated by the organisation.

Announcing the winner, TAHA executive Director Jacquiline Mkindi said Ihucha has done well in writing comprehensive stories on various issues pertaining to the multi-million- dollar industry.

``For esteemed readers of `The Guardian`, I believe you will agree with TAHA, that Ihucha deserves the recognition for his outstanding reporting, particularly on the fast growing horticultural sector in the country,`` Jacqueline said, amid applause from the audience.
