The Egyptian Embassy in Dar es Salaam yesterday joined the international community in condemning in strongest terms Israel military operations against Lebanon and Palestine.

A press statement issued yesterday in Dar es Salaam, said the Embassy of Egypt in Tanzania expresses deep concern over the deteriorating security situation in the Middle East.

According to the statement, Egypt has decided to call off Egypt National Day celebrations this year in solidarity with the suffering of the Lebanese and Palestine people.

”In light of the deteriorating situation in Lebanon and Palestine and in solidarity with the suffering of its people, the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt has decided to postpone the celebration of its National Day,” reads the statement, in part, adding: ”The Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Dar es Salaam expresses its sincere regrets at the unfortunate events unfolding in the Middle East region.”

It hopes that the aggression against Lebanon and Palestine will come to an end soon through peaceful means.
