Twiga Stars team coach Charles Boniface has called 25 players who are supposed to report at their JKT Ruvu camp in Coast region for training stint ahead of a friendly tie against Zimbabwe, eight days later.
The match is part of the team’s preparations ahead of Africa Women Championship final qualifier first leg tie against Ethiopia set for May 26 in Addis Ababa.
The players will undergo medical examination tomorrow ahead of the first training session a day after.
Players lined up for the camp are Amina Ally and Rehema Abdul (Lord Baden Secondary School), Asha Rashid, Aziza Mwadini (New Generation, Zanzibar), Etoe Mlenzi and Maimuna Said (JKT Mbweni), Evelyne Sekikuto (Mburahati Queens), Fadhila Hamad, Zena Said and Hanifa Idd (Uzuri Queens), Fatuma Bashiri (Simba Queens), Fatuma Khatib, Mwanaidi Tamba, Zena Khamis and Mwanahamisi Omari (Mburahati Queens) .
Others are Fatuma Mustafa, Mwapewa Mtumwa, Rukia Khamis and Fatuma Omari (Sayari), Mariam Aziz and Mwajuma Abdallah, Veneranda Mtamo and Semeni Abeid (Tanzanite),
Siajabu Hassan (Evergreen), Sophia Mwasikili (Luleburgaz Sport Kulubu, Turkey).
Twiga dispatched Namibia by 7-2 goals during the penultimate round qualifier matches winning the return leg at home by 5-2.
Should the team qualify, they will be making their second appearance in the finals to be staged in Equatorial Guinea later in November. Their maiden appearance was during the seventh edition held in South Africa in 2010.
