Industrial manufacturers have been urged to produce goods that are environment friendly as part of addressing the world going green aspect in order to serve future generations.
Speaking to The Guardian yesterday shortly after the launch of a Canon showroom and service centre in Dar es Salaam on Tuesday the Deputy Managing Director of Canon in the Middle East, Naoshi Yamada advised manufacturers to produce environment friendly products in order to fend off pollution.
“Going green is very important part for any company because the environment concerns both producers and consumers. Once the environment is polluted, the producers will not be able to produce and even the consumers will not be able to purchase,” Yamada stressed.
According to him, under the cartridge system, all printer toners are able to be reused.
He called upon manufacturers to embark on philanthropic activities that conserve the environment such as collection of garbage in beaches as is done in the Arab world.
Elaborating, he said, East African markets are recognized as of business importance therefore investing in the area means developing strong sales in the respective regions.
