4 die in separate incidents in Dar

Four people have been reported dead in four separate incidents in Dar es Salaam.

Ilala regional police commander (RPC) Marieta Komba said on Monday that Daudi Alexander (35), a resident of Buguruni Kisiwani in the district, was found dead on Sunday in his room after committing suicide.

She said the deceased hanged himself using a manila rope, adding that his body was found after three days following a stench emanating from his room.

She said the body was preserved in Muhimbili National Hospital.

The RPC said the body of a one-year-old child, Aloyce Coster, was found in a pit near its home at Tabata Kimanga on Sunday. She said that Aloyce dropped in the hole while playing with other kids and the body was preserved in Amana hospital.

Komba said that Ali Salehe Banee, a resident of Vingunguti aged between 20-25, years died on the spot after he was hit by a car along Nyerere road.

She said the car, with registration number T 466 ADU, was being driven by Lui Mathew (53), a resident of Buguruni in the district.

She said the police were holding the driver while the deceased's body was taken to Temeke hospital.

Meanwhile, Kinondoni regional police commander Charles Kenyela has said that a pedestrian, Godwin Ntandu (37), died on Sunday morning after knocked by a car with registration number T 208 ADF.

Kenyela said the accident occurred near Kibamba hospital in the district and the body was preserved in Tumbi hospital in the Coast region.

He said the police were holding the driver, adding that he would be taken to court once investigations were completed.
