JKT Ruvu rallied from behind to beat relegation-haunted Villa Squad in the Mainland premier soccer league match played at the Chamazi Stadium in Dar es Salaam yesterday.
Villa were leading by a lone goal up to the end of the first half but found the tide too high to swim as the army side turned tables in the second half with goals from Jimmy Shoji and Amos Mgisa.
The victory has enabled the army side to attain 30 points after 21 appearances to set up a ceiling of 45 points should they win all the remaining five matches in the premiership fixture.
Now fifth placed in the standings table, JKT Ruvu are looking forward to their next match against title contenders Azam FC to be played on April 1 at the same venue.
Villa have to work above the call of duty if they are to avoid dropping deep into the relegation zone. They play their next match against Moro United at the same venue next Wednesday.
The next premiership match will be between Moro United and African Lyon to be played at the Chamazi Stadium on Saturday.
Simba are still at the top of the premiership standings table with 47 points after 21 appearances to open a three-point gap over second placed Azam FC.
Holders Yanga are third with 44 points but have a game in hand to match Azam and Sima on 21 appearances.
