Soccer governing body Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) said there is a need for the federation to start investigations on allegations that some referees receive bribes to favor some teams.
Speaking recently , TFF information officer Boniface Wambura said recently they have been receiving many complaints that some referees do receive money to affect the results of some premier league games .
And he said his body is treating the allegations very seriously and will soon start investigating to find the truth on the matter.he asked all stakeholders to cooperate with the federation so that they can end the practice .
Wambura remarks has come at a time when many soccer lovers and some football coachers have been complaining that some referees receive bribes to influence results mainly those involving big teams .
Recently Villa squad head coach, Habibu Kondo openly said some referees receive bribes to favor premier league teams Simba , Yanya and AZAM football clubs .
Stakeholders have also being complaining that the alleged bribes contribute to the dwindling of soccer standards in the country .
“ We have been reciving this complaints for along time now and we think time has come for us to act , what is more worrying is that there are some individuals implicated in the syndicate ” he said
He , however , said TFF has been silent on the matter as it did not have any evidence on the allegations and asked all those with the evidence to help the federation.
