Mwanza fans have been in hectic moment as the city’s premier beauty pageantry is to be staged on Friday evening.
People from different corners of the city suburbs and beyond the borders are preoccupied with the event as hours are tickling.
Centrally located Gold Crest hotel is the venue to host the event as coordinator John Doto is spending sleepless nights.
Miss Mwanza winners during the 2008 and 2009 editions, Nasreem Karim and Miriam Gerald respectively, brought shockwaves to win the Miss Tanzania pageantry as they eclipsed the rest of contestants.
The success of the aforementioned duo is what keeps most of the fans that still there is more to come during the event on Friday.
Doto said almost everything for the show is on proper track and people are just standby as they await the D-day.
Most of the streets corners in Mwanza are dominated with the beauty contest as contestants have lined up to display their talents.
The ten contestants who have been confined within the Golf Crest hotel for the past ten days are Sabrina Hamad, Irene Karugaba, Jessica Innocent, Diana Robert, Ester Lawrence, Joella Lazaro and Judith John.
Others are Elizabeth Richard, Semen Steven, Lucy Lemes, Monica James, Zena Msekwa, Stella Charles, Neema Edmund, Elizabeth Zakaria and Kisura James.
The winner of Miss Mwanza would represent the region at the Miss Tanzania show expected to be staged in September under sponsorship of mobile telephone service providers, Vodacom Tanzania Ltd.
The Miss Tanzania event was revived in 1994 after a long spell since 1968 when the Government abolished the shows.
