The International Tennis Federation`s, ITF, tennis championships gets underway in dare s Salaam, today.

The host club has more than ten players in the tourney which is also being backed by the Confederation of African tennis, CAT.

DGC players expecting to feature in the tourney include  Hassan Kassim, Omar Abdallah, Morris Leonard, Shani Kinswaga and Riziki Salum.

Others are Rehema Athumani, S. Suzan, Paul Kinswaga and Kelvin Kipingu.

The DGC players would be joined by other competitors from Burundi Rwanda, Kenya, Uganda and Sudan.
 
The competition will be for singles, doubles, mixed doubles for men and women. Veteran players are also competing.

City based Cargostars company is backing the week-long tourney. The tournament whose finals will be played on Saturday, has so far attracted close to 60 players.
