Dar es Salaam fans are waiting to watch a middleweight boxing bout between Maneno Osward and Robert Mrossy expected to be staged at the Amana Club on March 20.

The bout has been sanctioned by the Tanzania Pugilistic Boxing Organisation as confirmed by its president Yassin Abdalla.

The twelve round bout is the second major event for the opening 2011 season aiming at promoting boxing in the country.

The event would be preceded by a high profile heavyweight contest between Ashraf Suleiman and Awadh Tamim scheduled for this weekend at the Diamond Jubilee Hall.

The heavyweight bout was supposed to be held last weekend but it was postponed to pave the way for fans to watch Dar’s hottest football derby between simba and Young Africans that ended in 1-1 draw.
