The Tanzania Sports Writers’ Association, TASWA has extended invitation to former Tanzania President Ali Hassan Mwinyi to present sports personality awards to be held at the Diamond Jubilee Hall in Dar es Salaam today.

TASWA chairman Juma Pinto said the preparations for the event are complete.

Pinto bragged that TASWA has leant a lot from the Johannesburg awards they were invited and a lot of improvements will be seen in this year’s gala.

“Everything is ready and every year we are improving a lot, so we will have an exciting year in the award ceremony as it gets better.

He also underscored unity to journalists all over the country as they look forward to polish the profession the most respected.

During last year’s gala former immediate past President Benjamin Mkapa was invited as a guest of honour at the Moven Pick hotel.
