Simba SC say that they have taken the task of treating their two players who got injured when they were with the national soccer team, Taifa Stars.

They are Haruna Moshi 'Boban' and Nasoro Masoud 'Cholo'.

Simba claim that they have taken the task to treat the duo after the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) failed to do so.

Simba Secretary General Evodius Mtawala said that they had decided to do the necessary after noticing that the national soccer body was delaying to pay the costs of the treatment.

He said when a player gets injured while playing for the national team it is the responsibility of TFF to make sure that he is treated.

He said the club is not ready to wait for TFF’s treatment while Simba needs those players to prepare for the regional club championship in the next few weeks.

Mtawala said that Simba had already started their preparations ahead of this year’s East and Central Africa Club championship, popular as Kagame Cup. “We do not have time to wait for TFF to treat the players as we need to use these players in the regional tourney,” he stated.

Simba’s statement comes one day after TFF Secretary-General Angetile Osiah said that the body was pursuing efforts on how to treat the players.

"We are the ones paying them salaries. So we are not ready to wait for TFF because we want to use them,” the Simba official maintained, expressing the hope that the players would be fit by June 15.

Simba coach Milovan Cirkovic who is on leave in Serbia had sent a training programme for the team and is hoping to find his players when he returns on June 15, to take the team from the hands of assistant coach James Kisaka.
