Visiting United States basketball team AND1 stamped their authority over Dar All Stars cruising to 123-71 in a friendly match played at the National Indoor Stadium in Dar es Salaam on Sunday.
The visiting side comprising eight players is on a five-day tour of Mwanza, Arusha and Dar es Salaam courtesy of the Coca-Cola beverage firm.
Players of the AND1 kept spectators spellbound throughout the game as they took a huge half time lead 64-23.
AND1 stars who thrilled fans during the match include Justine Fly, Paul Otim, High Rizer, Pharacist Davis, Lacue Brandon, Denis Chism, Philip Champion and Hot Sarce.
Dar all Stars were represented by Juma Kisoky, Frank Kusiga, Gerard Baru, Gilbert Batungi, Adamu Jegame, Fidelis Sunday, Sylvain Yunzu and Bernard Mageni.
Coca-Cola’s resident manager in the country Demeji Olaniyan hailed the visit by the American team as they left a big mark in the overall promotion of the game in the country.
The manager gave pat on the back for the visitors who displayed brilliant game to keep spectators spellbound throughout.
This is the second time for AND1 to tour the country under sponsorship of the Coca-Cola through Sprite brand.
The manager also hailed a hand in glove cooperation extended by the Tanzania Basketball federation as well as media members, before and during the American team’s visit.
