Salha Esrael has been crowned as new Miss Tanzania at the end of the country’s premier beauty pageantry staged at the Mlimani City auditorium on Saturday night.
Miss Esrael takes over from her predecessor Genevieve Mpangala after beating 29 other contestants in the grueling show.
Trace Sospeter and Alexia William trailed as first and second runners up respectively.
The winner has been awarded a brand new American made Jeep branded car valued at 72m/- plus an eight million shillings cheque. Miss Sospeter and William took home cheques worth 6.2m/- and 4m/-, respectively.
Jennifer Kakolaki and Loveness Flavian were fourth and fifth placed in the final standings to claim 3m/- and 2.4m/-, respectively.
The rest of the contestants have been awarded with a consolation cash prizes to the tune of 700,000/- .
Miss Esrael is a competitor who triumphed during Miss Ilala preliminaries.
The rest of the competitors during the show included Zubeda Seif, Stacey Alfred, Rose Hurbet, Cynthia Kimasha, Mwajab Juma, Mariaclara Mathayo, Irene Karubaga, Glory Samuel, Stella Mbuge, Husna Maulid, Neema Mtitu, Weirungu David and Chiaru Masonobo
Others were Husna Twalib, Asha Saleh, Zerulia Manoko, Maua Kimambo, Dalila Gharib, Christine Mwenegoha, Christine William, Atu Daniel, Leyla Juma and Hamisa Hussein.
Outgoing Miss Tanzania Genevieve Mpangala expressed her appreciation to Tanzanians for the support during her tenure.
Other side show winners of the event included Alexia William (Miss Personality), Mwajabu Juma (Miss Top Model), Trace Sospeter (Miss Photogenic), Loveness Flavian (Miss Sport) and Rose Albert (Miss Talent).
Kenyan artist one Kidumu, Ugandan one Juliana, Diamond Platinum, Bob Junior, Akili Brain, THT dancers and John Maganga entertained fans during the show.
