Hip and knee specialist from Multi-Specialty Shalby Hospital in Ahmedabad, India, Dr Deodhar Shrirang is expected to fly into the country this week to screen people with joint and related problems.
He is set to conduct a three-day clinic at the Regency Medical Center (RMC) in Dar es Salaam.
According to RMC chairman Dr Rajni Kanabar, the clinic will start on Friday July 20, this week and it will last until Sunday July 22.
“This is good news for Tanzanians with joint problems that the diagnostic and screening clinic for all orthopedic patients with hip, knee and other joint problems will get the opportunity to meet for consultation a specialist doctor from the largest joint replacement centre in India,” he said.
Dr Kanabar said that all those who want to consult the specialist doctor must come with their previous X-rays and medical reports.
“Only first 200 registered patients will get the opportunity to consult the specialist, we encourage those with such problems to take this opportunity,” he said.
Recently the RMC in collaboration with the Lions Clubs of Dar es Salaam (Host), Sri Sathya Sai Society of Tanzania and Fortis Escorts Heart Institute announced a mega Cardiac Screening Camp for adults and children in Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar.
According to Dr Kanabar, the screening camp in Dar es Salaam started from July 16 to today at the RMC and in Zanzibar it will be conducted at Mnazi Mmoja Hospital from tomorrow to July 20 this, year.
