A total of 30 contestants for this year’s edition of Miss Tanzania have opened a camp at Giraffe Ocean View hotel in Dar es Salaam yesterday.
The contestants are gearing up for the country’s premier beauty pageantry set for September 10 at the Mlimani City auditorium.
Vodacom’s head of sponsorship George Rwehumbiza whose firm is behind the supporting of the event for more than five years now, said this time the event has been improved to offset challenges experienced in the past.
“We have introduced a new Vodacom House where the contestants would be groomed to met challenges of life including how best to stay far from temptations”, said Rwehumbiza.
The beauty contestants would stay in the house for the next three weeks ahead of the show next month, so says Rwehumbiza.
The event’s organizers, Lino Agency whose director Hashim Lundenga said this time his firm searched for a winner of the show expected to be highly educated with integrity, discipline and beautiful enough to make strong impression at the global stage.
“We are not bound by the ethnic place of a contestant as the winner would be announced on the basis of merit and not otherwise”, said Lundenga.
Fifteen contestants would cruise into the semifinal stage instead of the previous ten.
New contesting ingredients for this edition includes top model, talent model, miss photogenic and top sports model, miss personality and the most cheerful of al inside the camp.
Two of the domestic television stations would be beaming live the activities of the contestants inside the Vodacom House as another additive to spice up the pre-show and incorporate the public to get peoples’ views.
